Who can enter the WPS Awards?

Anyone who has taken a photo at a real wedding or elopement! No styled shoots.

When does the entry period close?

Entries close at 11.59pm on 23rd November PST.

Where can I read the rules in detail?

Is there a limit to the number of entries I can submit?

Nope! You can submit as many entries across the categories as you like. 

Can I submit the same image across multiple categories?

Yes, absolutely. However, you cannot submit the same image twice into the same category - your duplicate will be removed from the category and only your single image will be judged. 

Can I submit styled shoots?

Unfortunately not. This is for real wedding or elopement shots only. 

Can I submit an image that has been entered in another competition?

Yes, as long as you hold the rights to your image.

Can I nominate another photographer on their behalf?

At the moment, no - the person entering must be the original photographer and owner of the image. But you CAN vote for your favourite photo/s!

Can I make changes to my entry after it’s submitted? 

All submissions are final. However, if you believe you have made an error on your upload, please email us via support@weddingphotographysummit.com ASAP and we can help you fix it up!

How do I know if my entry has been successfully submitted?

You’ll receive an email confirmation of your submission, along with a receipt of your entry fee. If you don’t receive this, please check your spam and promotions folders and if you still don’t have the email, please contact us on support@weddingphotographysummit.com and we’ll get it re-sent to you.

How will my images be used?

By entering your image, you’ll be giving us permission to display, share and promote your image/s across future WPS Awards initiatives. Please let us know if you don’t want us to use your image/s.

IMAGES

Do I retain the copyright of my images?

Yes, of course! You’ll always retain full ownership of your images. We’re just here to celebrate your work!

What digital image formats are required?

The upload form will accept JPG, PNG, GIF and SVG files that are less than 10MB.

PAYMENT

Is there a fee to enter?

Yes - it costs $15 USD to enter one image into one category. All profits from the WPS Awards will go to charity, which you can read more about here

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay for your entry using credit card or PayPal.

Are all the fees in USD?

All fees are $15 USD for entry, including taxes. There is no additional fee. Nominees will receive a media pack free of charge and category winners will receive a media pack and a trophy at no cost, including shipping.

What are my submission fees used for?

Running awards as part of the Wedding Photography Summit comes with many costs. However, all profits from the WPS Awards will be donated to charity. 

Who are the judges?

We have an incredible lineup of judges for this year’s WPS Awards. You can read all about them here. 

How does the judging process work?

All images will be initially scored by our in-house team, with 10 entries from each category shortlisted for the final judging round. The final judging will be performed by our team of guest judges. 

Each image will be scored out of 10 on a set of criteria: 

Relevance
Lighting
Composition
Camera Awareness
Creativity
Judges Score

The overall highest score will then be crowned the category winner.

How will the winners and shortlisted nominees be notified?

Award submissions are now open until midnight November 23 (PST)
The first round of shortlisting will be completed by November 26 (PST)
The guest judging round, to rate the shortlisted entries will be completed between Nov 27 - Nov 30 (PST)
The winners will be notified and the main winner will be announced on Dec 1 (PST)

WINNERS

What prizes will the winners receive?

The 8 category winners and the ‘WPS Awards Photographer of the Year’ winner will receive a media pack with digital badges and a trophy which will be sent out the day after the winners are announced. 

Additionally, winning entries will have their work featured on the Hello May magazine’s blog. 

What will shortlisted nominees receive?

All 80 shortlisted entries will receive a media pack featuring a digital badge to use on your website or socials. 

How will we receive our prizes?

When category winners are notified via email, they will be asked to provide their addresses. The trophy will then be sent to winners free of charge.
